2. Purpose

These terms define the rules governing access to and use of the Écrivium platform, as well as the conditions applicable to free and paid offers.

3. Account

The account is personal. The user must provide accurate information and ensure the confidentiality of their login credentials.

4. Services

Depending on the selected offer, Écrivium may provide, among other things, a manuscript editor, organisational tools, the Workshop, timelines, character and location sheets, the story map, export functions, community features and artificial intelligence tools.

5. Prices and subscriptions

The applicable features and prices are those presented to the user before the order is confirmed.

Certain offers may be provided as monthly or annual subscriptions. Renewal conditions are displayed before subscription.

6. Payment

Payment for paid offers may be processed through a secure payment provider, including Stripe.

7. AI credits

Certain offers include, or allow the purchase of, credits intended for artificial intelligence functions.

Their quantity, calculation method and any applicable validity period are stated in the relevant offer.

8. Right of withdrawal

When acting as a consumer and entering into a distance contract, the user is in principle entitled to the applicable statutory withdrawal period, except where an exception provided by law applies.

Where the user expressly requests the immediate performance of a service or digital content, any consequences for the right of withdrawal are presented before the order when required by applicable regulations.

9. Cancellation

The user may stop renewal of their subscription using the cancellation options provided by Écrivium.

Unless otherwise stated, cancellation prevents future renewal without removing access to the period already paid for until its expiry.

10. Rights to manuscripts

Users retain their rights to their texts, manuscripts, notes, characters, fictional worlds and other creations.

Use of Écrivium does not result in any general assignment of copyright to the platform.

11. Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence outputs are assistance suggestions and may contain errors or inaccuracies.

Authors must review and check content before using or publishing it.

12. Forum and community

Community features must be used with respect for other users and in accordance with the forum rules.

Écrivium may moderate or remove content that is clearly contrary to the service rules or applicable law.

13. Manuscript backups and exports

Écrivium implements backup mechanisms and technical measures intended to protect manuscripts, projects and data stored on the platform.

However, no computer system, online service or hosting infrastructure can completely eliminate the risk of a technical incident, unavailability, alteration or data loss.

Each writer is therefore strongly advised to make regular personal and independent backups of their work.

Écrivium provides export functions that allow users to keep a copy of their manuscript in PDF, Word and, where appropriate, EPUB format.

Users are advised to make these exports regularly, particularly after an important period of work or before any major change to a project, and to keep at least one copy on a computer, external device or storage space independent of Écrivium.

These personal backups are an additional precaution alongside the backup systems implemented by Écrivium. This recommendation does not limit Écrivium’s legal obligations or the rights available to users under applicable law.

14. Availability

The service may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, development, security purposes or due to an event outside Écrivium’s reasonable control.

15. Suspension

Écrivium may suspend an account where necessary for security, fraud prevention or in the event of a serious breach of these terms.

16. Complaints

Any complaint must first be sent to: ecrivium@ecrivium.fr.

In the event of an unresolved consumer dispute following a prior complaint, a consumer may contact the following mediator free of charge:
